THE NONSENSE CALLED RELIGION
hardcore leftwing atheist who worships Javed Akhtar twice a day. But No, trust me I am one of the
most religious people you will come across, but it is important for us to see what religion actually
is. Hi this is Dronser, bringing you my very first article on such a hot and sizzling topic.
"The belief in and worship of superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or Gods.
", this is what you get when you google the word "religion". Here there are two words that need
our attention, one being "belief" and another being "God". Let us try to understand what these
words actually mean.
When you don't know something for sure, but you also don't want to admit that you really don't
know and still want something to make sense, you start "believing" in something. This is where
the disaster starts, when you don't want to admit that you don't know what you don't know, and
you want to associate your lack of knowledge with some superhuman entity called GOD. This
hollow belief is the root cause of most of the problems you would see today.
All the religious people across the globe have their belief in something. According to me, these
people are just a bunch of lethargic morons who don't what to work hard for discovering the truth
and just live believing the lies their ancestors have been telling. For example, in science when we
study the subjects, we find various formulas, and almost all the formulas have some derivations.
But usually, we do not take the pain to understand the derivations, and directly mug up the form
ulas. This may help us score good marks in the exams and we may not face any problem in our live
s because of it, but our basic concepts will never be strong without the efforts to understand the
process of derivation. This is the case with these religious people or most of the religion per se,
they only want to believe in some spoonfed concepts which were made thousands of years ago
and maybe by just one individual.
The very concept of religion is a very western concept. India was never a land of any religion
rather it was always the land of seeking. The knowledge of Karma and Dharma were imparted
here. It was always said that your life is your own karma. We had no religion and we were not forced
to believe in any Gods. In fact, there was no modern-day Hinduism. No religion was followed, no
one was worshiped and on the contrary, people went inwards to discover the real truth rather than
just believing. There were no religious texts to follow. We only had Vedas and Puranas, in which
the prescriptions were provided for this spiritual journey called life.
Now many would say that Dharma and religion is one and the same thing. I beg to differ, there is
a huge difference between a religion and dharma. If you worship (praise) a God, follow his teachings
and fear him, you are said to be of a particular religion. But when your mother asks you for a glass
of water, irrespective of what you believe, think, follow, fear, you just feel this compulsive need to
fulfill her demands. This is dharma, this undefined relationship that just exits without any definition,
needs, greed, fear, etc. Dharma is a very intuitive concept and can only be experienced.
India was a land of Sanatana Dharma, which was prescribed rather than being imposed. For example,
when you go to a doctor, he prescribes you the medicine and doesn't force you to have it. Prescription
means a suggestion, that if you follow it will be easy for you to live this life, if not then you are always
welcome to find and seek something new, better and powerful. India was a land of spirituality, which
asked people to see, travel within themselves, unlike other religion to go on voyages to find God. One
step inwards is more effective than a thousand steps outwards.
So, my friends, it will be very helpful for you and the society as whole if we give up our blind belief
on someone sitting up(however, since we live on a spere Earth, we actually cannot define what Up
really means.), and go on to discover this universe in our own way.
