The Reality

“Excuse me , red tshirt wale bhaiya”

I heard a sweet voice calling out for someone. After hearing the shout a few times, I realised that I might be the one the person is calling since I was wearing a red tshirt. I turned and saw a short heighted girl wearing a blue coloured salwar kameez running towards me.

“Aapka bag mere bag se exchange ho gya” She said with a South Indian accent.

I was confused for a moment because I usually use a distinct sticker to recognise my bag while travelling and I could clearly see that sticker on the American Tourister bag I was holding. My heart told me continue speaking to her. But my brain ,exhausted from the 4 hour delayed flight from Hyderabad to Surat told me to just clear the misunderstanding and I am more of a mind guy.

“That cant be possible because this sticker here shows that this is my bag” I said irritated.

She took my bag and tried opening it with her lock combination ,but cleared it didn’t open.

“Ohh I am really sorry”, I heard the sweet voice again.

“Its ok but I really gotta go now, I have booked an uber” I said as I began to leave.

I was in no mood to help a damsel in distress though normally I am a chivalric guy. I reached my pick point and took the cab to my hostel. The board of National Institute Of Technology, Surat greeted me at the entrance. I sighed as I realised that my classes would be starting from next day but all my friends were going to join a week later and I couldn’t, thanks to my strict parents.
As I unloaded my luggage and paid the driver , I saw a watchman coming towards me.

“Id bhaiya aur leave form bhi dikhaye”

“Kya bhaiya do saal se padh rha hu idhar, phir bhi nahi pehechante”

“Itne log rehte hai hostel, sabko yaad rakhna mumkin nhi haina bhaiya” he said.

I showed him my ID card to which he confirmed that I was Anuraag Nadipeeli pursuing Mechanical Engineering. After settling in my room, I thought of having dinner at the local restaurant. I changed and headed for the restaurant. After having dinner as I was leaving the restaurant, I heard a familiar voice call me

“Hey Anuraag”

As I turned , I saw the same girl who had stopped me at the airport.

“How do you know my name and what are you doing here?” I asked her suspiciously.

“Hi my name is Annu and I saw your name on the bag tag on your bag. Please don’t get suspicious, I was having dinner here. I study at Institute Of Fine Arts nearby.”

“Ohh hey, did you find your bag?” I asked still not fully convinced of her story.

“Yes there was thing girl who had mistaken it for her bag. The issue was sorted out thankfully.” She said.

“Cool, Chalo nice meeting you, I have to leave now” I said wanting to get as far as I could from her being a person who doesn’t believe in coincidences.

“Why do you always in a hurry, lets chill for a while, allow me to have the pleasure of having chai with you.”

My habit of having chai after dinner and the girls beauty played their part on me agreeing to the idea.
We spoke a bit about her college as we made our way to Bansi Chaiwala. She ordered two chais and brought it from the counter to the table. As I was getting up to get extra sugar, she got up saying that she wants extra sugar. She got the sugar and we both mixed it and had had our chai.

She started feeling a bit dizzy.

“What have you done!!!” she exclaimed.

Not a second later, two people brandishing guns started moving towards me. I was quick to pull out
my Beretta 70 and fire some shots towards them I was successful in injuring them and they retreated.

As I reloaded my gun I said “I had no idea you were a Chinese agent but meeting you twice in a day, you knowing my love for chai and my habit of having extra sugar coupled with the fact of two people continuously following us. I decoded it fast and exchanged our chais. ”.

“Adios ”, I said as I pumped her with bullets.

I made my way to the nearby bus station and disappeared in the crowd.
I had to change my name, my location everything. I headed to my senior at Nadini Wala’s.

“I need new identity………..”

We will be landing in  few minutes, please tighten your seat belts.

The announcement brought me back to reality. What a dream. The flight landed. I booked a cab to my hostel. As I made my way to the exit,I heard a voice saying

“Excuse me , red tshirt wale bhaiya”
